We spoke with Daniel Simmons, Chief Commercial Officer, about the ongoing partnership between our companies. Daniel has been with HotelREZ for 19 years, overseeing their hotel services team, and working closely with properties to ensure they see results and growth.

Leonardo and HotelREZ have been partners for over 10 years. Throughout this time, we’ve worked closely together to help ensure that the properties in our portfolio are truly standing out from the competition. This partnership includes regular, proactive check-ins between Daniel’s team and their Account Manager at Leonardo. These regular check-ins help them stay on top of their content and keep them informed of any new features and functionality within our system.
When working with new properties, Leonardo is an essential part of their onboarding and optimization process. They provide hotels our content management platform to help them automatically update hundreds of channels with high-quality, consistent content. For their existing hotel clients, HotelREZ uses our ongoing audit and reporting process to make sure that they are meeting best practices and requirements on every channel.
“We ensure that any new images, that will improve sales, are immediately added to the Leonardo system so they can feed them on to the channels,” explains Daniel. “Using the audits from Leonardo, we know when things are out of date, the size of images, sequencing, captions, date they were last updated – we are constantly auditing to make sure that the images, logos, videos & content are of a high relevant standard and that every single question is answered and every box is ticked.”
Leonardo helps HotelREZ/Best Loved Hotels stay on top of the ever-increasing requirements that travel channels have, to stay competitive and look fresh. We also have an approval system that ensures the team can assess and approve content before it goes out to OTAs, which helps flag errors and low-quality content.
Understanding the value of content
HotelREZ/Best Loved Hotels works with over 2,500 three to five star hotel properties in over 100 different countries. Every one of those properties needs to have beautiful content on hundreds of channels.
“In the old days, you’d switch on the TV and there would be three or four channels. Now there’s thousands, and it’s the same with hospitality,” says Daniel. “The number of channels hotels are listed on is just getting bigger and bigger. To have one tool where you can have all your content go out automatically to so many of them is essential to us. When you’re booking a holiday, if the images aren’t great–you’re not going to book the property. Leonardo ensures our properties are looking as amazing online as they are to visit and this increases sales.”
They understand the importance of standardizing and improving content on every channel. Having all their descriptive content, including images, captions, descriptions, amenity lists, and more, up to date is essential for hotels to maximize their presence not only on the major OTAs, but also the GDS, travel management companies, and so on.
In the past, GDS linked managed travel companies may not have had access to photos or descriptive content. These days travel agents are looking at similar content as consumer-facing OTAs and it’s essential to be optimized everywhere. That’s where partners like Leonardo and HotelREZ help hotels shine.
